We use the full range of Inovus Simulators and Totum for our training at the ICENI. Being able to objectively measure performance is really important and the motion tracking features of Totum allow us to measure technical performance not just on basic skills exercises, but also on a variety of full surgical procedures that are relevant to clinical practice. The simulators are so smooth and easy to use, which is great. The high-fidelity models and real instruments are particularly useful for practising procedures such as salpingectomy and salpingotomy.
The training opportunities have been reduced in the hospital in which I'm working so it's been perfect to have access to a high-fidelity simulator to allow me to continuously practise my skills. I would recommend the simulators to any trainee.
What I like about the LapAR and Totum platform is that it provides training and tutoring opportunities from anywhere, allowing the trainee to review feedback and work on their skills in their own time.
